The Flojet 02090-118 is the genuine pressure switch with a 27-40 PSI band for Flojet 4300 Series pumps. The pump starts when line pressure falls to around 27 PSI and stops once it has built back to around 40.
The 4300 Series is one of Flojet’s motor-driven diaphragm pump families used in water system and transfer duty, and matching the switch to the series matters for more than the pressure numbers. The switch has to fit the pump’s mounting, connect to its wiring arrangement and handle the current that particular motor draws. A switch with the right pressure band but the wrong current rating will work for a while and then weld or burn its contacts, typically leaving the pump running when it should have stopped.
Symptoms of a failing switch follow a familiar pattern: rapid cycling with no tap open, a pump that will not shut off after the taps are closed, or one that will not start until the pressure has dropped much further than it used to. Before replacing the switch, rule out a leak somewhere in the system — a weeping joint or a failed check valve bleeds pressure down and makes a healthy switch restart the pump repeatedly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does the switch need to match the pump series and not just the pressure?
Because it also has to match the mounting, the wiring and the current the motor draws. Contacts sized for a smaller motor will eventually weld shut, which leaves the pump running with nothing to stop it.
Q: Where do I find my pump series?
On the label on the pump body or motor. If it has faded, send us a photograph of the pump and we will identify it with you.
Q: What is the first thing to check before blaming the switch?
Leaks. A dripping tap, a weeping joint or a check valve that no longer seats will all drop system pressure and make the switch cycle the pump exactly as designed.
Q: Can I clean pitted contacts rather than replacing the switch?
It is a temporary measure at best. Once contacts are pitted the surface is no longer flat, so they arc more, pit faster and fail again shortly afterwards.
