Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can a direct mount switch be replaced with a plumbed-in one?
Only if the pump head is set up for it. The port arrangement differs, and a head designed for a direct mount switch usually has no other way to sense pressure.
Q: Does mounting position affect how the switch reads?
Sensing at the pump is slightly different from sensing further along the line, because a long run has its own pressure drop. In a small system the difference is not enough to notice.
Q: Is a direct mount switch harder to replace?
Generally easier. There is no plumbing to break into — the switch unbolts from the head and the new one goes on in its place.
Q: Will 30 PSI be enough for a shower?
