Flojet 01870002C Lock Clips, 1/2" ID, Pack of 6
The Flojet 01870002C is a genuine pack of six lock clips for 1/2" ID quick-connect fittings. Each clip slides into its fitting once the tube is fully home, blocking the release collet so the joint cannot be pushed apart while the system is in use.
On the 1/2" main supply the clip matters more than it does on a branch, for the simple reason that the consequences are larger. A main run carries the flow for every outlet downstream, and it is under pressure whenever the pump is live. A joint that releases on that line empties the tank rather than dripping quietly, and on a boat the tank goes into the bilge. The clip is the component standing between an accidental knock and that outcome.

Q: Are 3/8 in. and 1/2 in. clips interchangeable?
No. They are sized to their fitting, and a clip that is close but not correct will either refuse to seat or sit loosely enough to fall out.
Q: How can I check every clip is in without dismantling anything?
Look along the run with a torch. A properly seated clip sits flush against the fitting shoulder; one that is partly out stands visibly proud and usually catches the light.
Q: Should clips be fitted before or after pressure testing?
Before. Testing a system with joints that are not locked risks a release at exactly the moment the line is under its highest pressure.
Q: Is it worth keeping spares aboard?
