Flojet 01825000C Adapter, 1/2" Slip Stem x 1/2" Hose Barb
The Flojet 01825000C is a genuine adapter joining a 1/2" slip stem to a 1/2" hose barb. It is the transition between a quick-connect tubing system and conventional barbed hose at the main supply size.
Most working water systems are hybrids, and this is the fitting that lets that be a deliberate choice rather than a compromise. Rigid tubing is the better answer for long fixed runs — it does not sag, does not kink and clips down neatly. Flexible hose is the better answer for the last few inches into a pump or a component that vibrates, because it absorbs movement that rigid tubing would transmit straight into the joint. Using each where it belongs, with a proper adapter between, gives a quieter and longer-lived system than insisting on one material throughout.
On the stem side the fitting pushes into its matching socket and seals on an O-ring. On the barb side, warm a stiff hose before fitting it so it goes fully over the barb rather than being forced part way, and secure it with a clamp behind the last ridge. Do not clamp anything around the stem or the socket — the seal there depends on the bore staying round.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why use a flexible tail at the pump at all?
Because a pump moves. A short flexible section lets it vibrate without working the plumbing joints, and it noticeably reduces the noise carried into the structure.
Q: How long should the flexible section be?
Long enough to form a gentle loop rather than a taut straight line. A hose pulled tight between two fixed points transmits vibration almost as well as rigid pipe does.
Q: What clamp should I use on the barb?
A smooth-band clamp rather than a perforated worm-drive type where you can. Perforated bands can cut into softer hose as they are tightened, particularly after a few heat cycles.
Q: Can I double clamp the hose?
One correctly sized and positioned clamp behind the last barb ridge is usually enough. A second clamp further back does little, and clamping over a ridge can actually reduce the sealing pressure where it matters.
