Flojet 01822008C Slip Stem Tee, 1/2"
The Flojet 01822008C is a genuine 1/2" tee with a slip stem branch — two 1/2" tube connections plus a 1/2" slip stem, so the branch plugs straight into a matching quick-connect fitting rather than needing a length of tube and a second joint to get there.

A great many things you want to tee into are themselves quick-connect components sitting close to the run: an accumulator, a filter housing, a pressure switch port, a second pump. With an ordinary tee you would run a short stub of tube to reach them, which means two more joints and a loop of tubing to support in a space that probably has none to spare. The stem lets the tee connect directly.
Practically, it means fewer components between the supply and whatever you are feeding, which is fewer things to leak and fewer to inspect. Cut both tube ends square and push them fully home, and push the stem into its receiving fitting until it seats, checking that any retaining clip or collet is properly engaged. Support the tubing either side so the tee is not carrying the run.

Q: What does the stem plug into?
Any matching quick-connect fitting of the same size — the receiving socket has the O-ring and the retaining collet or clip, and the stem is the plain spigot that goes into it.
Q: Does a direct stem connection carry load differently?
Yes, and it is worth thinking about. With no tube between them, any movement of the component being fed transmits straight into the tee, so mount that component solidly rather than letting it hang.
Q: Can I use the stem end as an outlet to tube instead?
Only with a socket fitting to receive it. The stem is the male half of the pair and has no internal seal of its own.
Q: How do I blank the stem if the branch is not in use?
Use the correct cap for the stem size. Leaving an open stem in a pressurised system is exactly as leaky as it sounds.
