Flojet 01821000C Equal Elbow, 1/2" ID
The Flojet 01821000C is a genuine push-fit equal elbow for 1/2" ID tubing. Both ends take 1/2" tube, pushed in and locked by hand, turning the main supply run through ninety degrees without clamps, crimps or tools.
Half-inch tubing is noticeably stiffer than 3/8", and that stiffness is exactly why an elbow matters more at this size. The larger tube has a larger minimum bend radius, so the space needed to turn a corner without deforming it is greater — and the temptation to force it is correspondingly stronger when you are working behind a panel. A 1/2" tube bent past its limit goes oval at the bend, losing bore where the flow is already turning, and carries permanent stress in the outer wall.
There is a second benefit that shows up over years rather than days. A run made with elbows sits where it was put and clips down flat; a run made by springing stiff tube around corners is permanently trying to straighten itself, and that constant load works fixings loose and eventually finds the weakest joint. Cut both tube ends square, push them fully home, and pull gently on each to confirm they have locked.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why is 1/2 in. tube harder to route than 3/8 in.?
Stiffness rises sharply with diameter. The larger tube resists bending far more, needs a wider radius and pushes back much harder against whatever is holding it in place.
Q: Can I warm the tube to bend it tighter?
Heating to force a tighter bend is a poor idea in a pressurised potable system. It thins the outer wall at the bend and leaves a weak point that will not show up until it fails.
Q: How many elbows can I use in one run?
As many as the route genuinely needs. Each adds a small amount of restriction, but a handful of proper elbows costs far less flow than one crushed bend.
Q: Should the elbow be clipped down itself?
Support the tubing either side of it rather than clamping the fitting body. Fittings are designed to be held by the tube they carry, not squeezed by a clip.
