Calpeda 35000201000 Impeller - C 41 and GA 41
The Calpeda 35000201000 is the genuine replacement open impeller listed for the C 41 and GA 41 centrifugal pumps. Q: How do I measure my old impeller to compare it?
Measure straight across the outside of the vanes at the widest point, then check the bore and the keyway width. Note any wear on the vane edges before you measure, because an eroded impeller reads smaller than it left the factory.
Q: Does supply frequency really change which impeller I need?
It does. A motor running at 60 Hz turns faster than the same motor at 50 Hz, so the impeller is trimmed to a smaller diameter to keep the duty and the motor loading where they belong. Fitting the wrong one can overload the motor.
Q: Should the impeller be a tight fit on the shaft?
It should slide on without being forced and locate squarely against its shoulder, with the key taking the drive. If it has to be hammered on, something is wrong - usually corrosion on the shaft, a burr, or simply the wrong bore.
Q: What does a broken vane do to the pump?
It unbalances the rotating assembly immediately, which puts a cyclic load into the seal faces and the motor bearing at running speed. Output drops as well, but the vibration damage to everything downstream of the impeller is usually the more expensive consequence.
