The 216 frame size gives you a 2" suction and a 1.5" discharge in standard NPT, with flange connections available when your piping calls for them.
Buying the fluid end on its own is what makes this part useful. If you already have a good motor in service, you replace the pump end and keep running instead of buying a complete pump.
