AMT 4891-010-09 Impeller
The AMT 4891-010-09 is the genuine replacement impeller for AMT 4891-95 and 4891-97 pumps. Precise fitment like that is worth paying attention to, because an impeller is one of the few components that can bolt onto the shaft perfectly and still be the wrong part for the machine.
Vane profile and outside diameter set the torque the impeller demands at running speed, and that has to match what the motor can deliver. Fit one cut for a larger motor and yours runs overloaded — excess current, heat in the windings, nuisance overload trips and a shortened motor life. Fit one cut for a smaller motor and the pump simply never reaches the head and flow on its plate. Both fit the shaft equally well, and neither announces the problem at assembly time.
Replace the impeller when the vane tips have thinned or gone ragged, when the shroud has worn through, when erosion at the eye has opened the running clearance, or when cavitation has left its characteristic pitted, honeycombed damage on the vane backs. Check the wear surface it runs against at the same time — a new impeller in a casing whose cover or suction plate is already eroded only gets you part of the performance back.
