AMT 4294-030-00 Cast Iron Motor Adapter
The AMT 4294-030-00 is the genuine cast iron motor adapter carried under the factory description "Adapter XCI MBV to -09". On a close-coupled pump the adapter is the structural link between motor and pump end: it bolts to the motor face, registers concentrically on the motor spigot, and carries the pump casing on its other face.
Two things depend entirely on that adapter being right. The first is concentricity — the pump end has to sit exactly on the motor’s axis, or the impeller runs off-centre in the casing and the mechanical seal is loaded unevenly every revolution. The second is axial position, which sets the gap between the impeller and its wear surface and the compression on the seal. An adapter that is cracked, corroded, or has a damaged register bore gets both of those wrong at once, and the pump shows it as vibration, a seal that will not stop weeping, and an impeller that rubs.
Cast iron is used here because it is stiff, dimensionally stable and damps vibration far better than a fabricated bracket.
