AMT 3693-013-09 Impeller
The AMT 3693-013-09 is the genuine replacement impeller for AMT 3693-95 and 3693-97 pumps. Having the fitment stated that precisely is worth something: impellers are one of the few pump parts where a component that physically fits the shaft can still be entirely wrong for the machine.
The reason is that vane profile and outside diameter together determine how much torque the impeller demands at running speed, and that demand has to match what the motor can deliver. An impeller cut for a larger motor will bolt straight onto a smaller one and then run it overloaded — excess current, heat in the windings, nuisance overload trips, and a shortened motor life. An impeller cut for a smaller motor fits just as neatly and simply leaves head and flow on the table. Neither problem announces itself at assembly time.
Replace the impeller when the vane tips have thinned or gone ragged, when the shroud has worn through or perforated, when erosion at the eye has opened the running clearance, or when cavitation has left the characteristic pitted, honeycombed damage on the vane backs. Check the wear surface it runs against at the same time — a new impeller against a worn cover or suction plate only gets you part of the performance back.
