The AMT 3691-013-00 is the genuine stainless steel impeller for AMT’s 1.0 HP, three-phase, open drip proof (ODP) build, carried under the factory designation "Imp XSS 1.0HP ODP 3PH MBV -01". The vane edge is the part of an impeller that quietly decides how well a pump performs. The leading edge of each vane picks the liquid up, and once it rounds off through erosion the flow no longer follows the vane cleanly — it separates, turbulence rises, and a slice of the pump’s head vanishes. There is nothing dramatic about it. A pump that has lost a meaningful fraction of its output to rounded vanes sounds exactly like a healthy one, which is why so many are left running at reduced output for years.
Beyond edge wear, look for a shroud that has thinned or perforated, erosion at the eye that has opened the running clearance, and the pitted, spongy surface cavitation leaves on the vane backs. When you fit a new impeller, check the casing cover or suction plate it runs against as well — a new impeller against a worn wear surface only restores part of the performance. Match the horsepower and phase on your nameplate to the parts breakdown before ordering.
