AMT 3690-013-01 Stainless Steel Impeller, 1.0 HP ODP
The AMT 3690-013-01 is the genuine stainless steel impeller for AMT’s 1.0 HP, three-phase, open drip proof (ODP) pump build. The ODP reference in the part description identifies the motor the pump is built around, which matters because AMT cuts the impeller to suit the motor — diameter and vane profile together set how much torque the impeller demands at running speed.
That relationship is why impellers are not interchangeable by bore size. Fit an impeller cut for a larger motor and the one you have will run overloaded, pulling excess current, running hot and tripping its overload — or quietly cooking its windings if the protection is set generously. Fit one cut for a smaller motor and the pump simply never reaches the head and flow on its nameplate. Matching the impeller to the horsepower and phase on the motor plate is the whole exercise.
Replace the impeller when the vane tips have thinned or gone ragged, when the shroud has worn through, when erosion has opened up the running clearance, or when cavitation has left the pitted honeycomb texture on the backs of the vanes. Stainless steel is specified for corrosion resistance and for holding a sharp vane edge in abrasive or salt-laden service. Check your nameplate against the parts breakdown before ordering.
