AMT 2105-018-01 Bronze Suction Plate, 1.50"
The AMT 2105-018-01 is the genuine machined bronze suction plate in the 1.50" size. The suction plate sits directly in front of the impeller eye, forming the wall the impeller draws against and containing the suction side of the pump. Its inner face and the front of the impeller are separated by a deliberately small gap, and that gap is one of the most performance-critical dimensions in the whole machine.
When the suction plate wears, the pump does not fail — it fades. Liquid that should be thrown out through the discharge instead recirculates through the widened gap back to the low-pressure eye, so the pump moves less, lifts less, primes more slowly and takes longer to do the same job, all while drawing the same current. Because the decline is gradual, it usually gets blamed on a blocked strainer or a tired motor long before anyone takes the front off the pump and looks.
Bronze is specified for corrosion resistance in raw and salt water and because it wears kindly against a rotating impeller rather than galling or seizing. This plate is finish-machined to the drawing, so it restores the designed clearance rather than approximating it. Fit it with a new gasket or O-ring, inspect the impeller face at the same time (a worn plate usually comes with a worn impeller), and confirm the part number against your parts breakdown before ordering.
