AMT 2105-009-00 Stainless Steel Impeller
The AMT 2105-009-00 is the genuine stainless steel impeller for AMT pumps, carried under the factory designation "Impeller XSS". The impeller is the rotating heart of a centrifugal pump: it takes torque from the motor and converts it into velocity in the liquid, which the volute then turns into pressure at the discharge.
Because it is the only part doing that conversion, its condition dictates what the pump can actually deliver. Worn vane tips, a thinned or perforated shroud, erosion at the eye, or the pitted honeycomb texture left by cavitation all reduce how much energy the impeller can put into the liquid. The symptoms arrive gradually and are easy to blame on something else — less head, less flow, longer priming, higher power draw for the same output — which is why an impeller often gets replaced later than it should.
Stainless steel is chosen for corrosion resistance and for the way it holds a sharp vane edge in service; iron and bronze impellers round off faster in abrasive or chemically aggressive liquid.
