AMT 1509-140-90 Shaft and Ball Bearing Assembly
The AMT 1509-140-90 is the genuine replacement shaft and ball bearing assembly for AMT pedestal pumps, machined with a 7/16-20 thread and a 5/8" keyway. It comes as a complete, factory-built rotating unit — shaft, ball bearings and retaining hardware already assembled to the correct preload — so you are not trying to press bearings square on a bench and hope the runout comes out right.
On a pedestal pump the shaft and bearing assembly does all the mechanical work: it carries the impeller out over the suction, absorbs the radial and axial loads the impeller generates, and holds everything concentric so the mechanical seal has a true surface to run against. When those bearings start to go, the symptoms are unmistakable — growling or rumbling at the pedestal, a shaft that feels rough or gritty turning by hand, measurable end play, or heat you can feel through the housing. Ignore it and the resulting wobble takes out the seal, then the wear rings, then the housing bore.
This assembly is listed for the 3682, 3694 and 3704 solids-handling pedestal pump series and for the 2820-98, 2820-99, 282P-95, 2760-99 and 2761-99 self-priming pedestal pumps. Thread and keyway dimensions vary between AMT pedestal families, so confirm the part number against your parts list before ordering.
