AMT 1506-000-00 Cast Iron Mounting Foot
The AMT 1506-000-00 is the genuine cast iron mounting foot used on AMT close-coupled pumps built around NEMA 56J and 56C frame motors. It bolts to the motor and gives the pump-and-motor assembly a flat, rigid base that can be through-bolted to a skid, a deck, a bulkhead shelf or a concrete pad. On a close-coupled pump the motor is carrying the pump, so the foot is what actually transfers that whole load into the structure underneath.
Mounting hardware is easy to overlook, but a pump that is not solidly footed never runs right for long. A missing, cracked or bent foot lets the assembly rock and vibrate, and that vibration goes straight into the mechanical seal, the bearings and the suction and discharge piping connections. The usual chain of events is a foot that was never replaced after a drop or a hard knock, followed a few months later by a seal that keeps weeping and a union that keeps working loose. Cast iron is used here because it is stiff and dimensionally stable and damps vibration far better than a stamped bracket.
This foot is specified for 56J and 56C frame motors. The frame designation is stamped on the motor nameplate, and it is worth checking before you order — a 56 frame motor with a different mounting designation may use a different foot.
