New Product Preview
Including 3D Multi-beam Sonar & Radars
For NavNet TZtouch & TZtouch2
The Miami Boat show marks the opening of an event that each year continues to set the tone for the recreational boating industry. Furuno would like to introduce the boating public to some exciting new products. We'd like to provide you with a preview of the upcoming products.
The star of this year's show for Furuno is certain to be the all-new DFF3D Multi-beam Sonar. We're proud to bring 3D underwater viewing and side-scanning capabilities to our flagship NavNet TZtouch and TZtouch2 MFDs, with this all-new DFF3D black box module. This Multi-beam Sonar takes the highly-desired ability to scan port to starboard under the vessel and ups the ante by displaying unique 3D Sounder History that presents a very intuitive three-dimensional image of the seafloor, along with icons depicting fish distribution. This mode is extremely useful for locking-in on fishing hot spots and assessing the seabed condition. Leveraging Furuno's unique commercial fisheries experience and technology, the DFF3D delivers a sidebar detection range of an unprecedented 650+ feet, while also seeing down to over 1,000 feet, possibly making it the only Sounder many fishermen will need!
The DFF3D is scheduled to begin shipping later this spring and will initially be paired with an all-new, motion stabilized multi-beam, thru-hull transducer. Additional transducer options, including a transom mount version, will be available later in the year. Please take a few moments to check out the videos below and accompanying DFF3D brochure that will introduce you to the many features, abilities and benefits of this revolutionary new fishing machine from Furuno!
Enhancing NavNet TZtouch and TZtouch2 sensor options doesn't stop with the DFF3D Multi-beam Sonar. Furuno's already extensive and award-winning DRS family of ultra-high definition Radar sensors is expanding. With the 2016 introduction of the DRS6AX X-Class Radar, Furuno raised the bar on performance for traditional X-Band recreational Radar. Now, we're moving that bar up a couple more notches with two new, high-power X-Class Radar options for NavNet TZtouch and TZtouch2, the DRS12AX and DRS25AX. These two new Radars not only deliver incredibly high performance and useful features, but do so at an extremely competitive price. Scheduled to commence delivery this spring. As with other open array DRS Radars, these new models can be paired with a number of antenna options, ranging in size from 3.5 to 6 feet. Check out the below video on the newly expanded line of X-Class Radars, and download updated brochures for NavNet TZtouch and TZtouch2, which now include product info for these new Radars and the DFF3D Multi-beam Sonar.
In addition to new Sonar and Radar options, NavNet TZtouch2 MFD's will soon provide extensive and valuable data to owners of Yamaha's most popular outboard engines. Furuno is one of the first manufacturers to integrate an MFD with Yamaha Engines, to display gauges and other important information. Furuno collaborated closely with Yamaha to create the interface, while designing the gauges to emulate Yamaha's familiar look and feel. NavNet TZtouch2 interfaces with Yamaha's Helm Master®, Command Link® and Command Link Plus® to bring engine data across the network. This marriage of helm navigation and engine data places all of this critical information at the operator's fingertips, making TZtouch2 a truly turnkey solution for many boats. While this integration will require the purchase of an inexpensive gateway module from Yamaha, the availability of this data on a TZtouch2 MFD will be a no-cost upgrade for customers, as it will be incorporated into an upcoming TZtouch2 software update, coming this spring. While there will be a formal introduction when the software update becomes available, you can get more detailed info on this exciting integration between TZtouch2 and Yamaha engines by reviewing the product brochure.

The new product excitement is not only confined to NavNet TZtouch and TZtouch2. Furuno is also pleased to be premiering our latest standalone Radar model, the all-new 1815 Color LCD Radar. The Furuno 1815 assembles some of the very best features of our latest commercial and network models, presenting them in a compact and durable standalone Radar package that includes a stylish, low-profile 4kW Radome antenna, packaged with an 8.4" color LCD display that is a cosmetic match to the extremely popular FCV588 Fish Finder.
The 1815 is designed for a wide variety of vessels, including pleasure craft, workboats and small fishing boats that require an easy-to-use, true color Radar, at an affordable price point. This compact Radar incorporates many of Furuno's latest Radar features, including Furuno's Fast Target Tracking (TT) function, which allows the user to manually or automatically track up to 10 targets. In addition to TT, the 1815 can also display up to 100 AIS targets, when interfaced with an AIS Receiver and applicable sensors. Another useful feature is Furuno's proprietary True Trail mode. With True Trails, moving objects will show a gradation trail of the target in their wake, making it possible to gauge the directional movement of targets at a glance. These features, combined with Furuno's unique True View mode, make reading the display easier and more intuitive, even for novice navigators. The full-featured 1815 Radar will be a very economical upgrade for boaters. For more specific details on the all-new 1815 compact, standalone Radar, be sure to check out the 1815 product brochure.
