Features of the new companionway CloZures.

·     They never need to be varnished.

·     They are removable.

·     Sailors can insert their panel of choice, which includes screens, viewing plex. or privacy panels.

·     Screens are available in regular or no-see-um.

·     Board channels are always available, in case you need to insert the original boards for offshore sailing.

·     Doors can be locked from the inside.

·     Doors can be locked from the outside with an integrated cam lock.

Obstacles (problems) which have been overcome

with the new hi-tech doors.

·       Problem: Strength & rigidity due to the removal of area for plastic inserts.

·             Solution: Stainless steel girders are inserted between the two pieces of starboard plastic which is then laminated together with a space age bonding adhesive, making it stiffer than plywood of the same thickness. Also the upper retainer strip enforces the doors rigidity

·       Problem: The drainage of direct rain onto a hard insert.

·             Solution: 2 Weep holes located at the bottom of each door drains the water outwards.

·       Problem: Weather drainage between door (middle) openings.

·             Solution: A weather strip has been inserted to prevent this common problem
