NAC-D Autopilot Computer for Steer By Wire
NAC-D is a steer-by-wire autopilot solution for Electronic Vessel Control Systems (steering systems with a digital interface).
With NAC -D, boaters with SeaStar® Optimus®, Yanmar® VC10/JC10, Volvo® IPS/EVC or Yamaha® helm master/single-engine control systems can benefit from all the full features and performance of Simrad® autopilots.
Easy to install
Requires only the connection of two Micro-C connectors – there is no requirement for an additional hydraulic pump, rudder sensor installation, or dockside rudder calibration. This saves boaters time and money.
Automatic switching
Featuring Continuum® steering and support for the SteadySteer™, the NAC -D allows automatic switching between two-speed profiles delivering optimal steering performance at both low and high speeds.
Flexible choice
Choose the controller to suit your preference from dedicated controllers like the AP™ 44 or AP 48.
Simrad® autopilot systems incorporate state-of-the-art electronics and represent over 70 years of experience and development. Simrad® autopilots can reduce your workload and fatigue and improve your situational awareness and safety, helping you arrive fresher at your destination.
Features
SeaStar Solutions®, Volvo®, Yanmar® and Yamaha® approved control system interface
Control via AP™ 44, AP 48
No need for an additional hydraulic pump, rudder sensor, or dockside calibration
SteadySteer™ feature included
Steer to a waypoint, heading, or set turn pattern, such as a U-turn, Spiral turn, and many more – the NAC™ -D can even initiate a zigzag turn
CAN-bus data connectivity - connection to Optimus® steering systems via the CAN-bus data network

NAC-1 Autopilot Computer
The NAC-1 is the centre of your autopilot system, containing the electronics needed to operate and interface with other key components. It has been designed for hydraulic or cable-steered boats up to nine metres (30 feet) in length, and works with Simrad displays to provide a fully integrated autopilot solution.
Easy Installation
Plug-and-play connectors facilitate easy installation, minimising the wiring necessary to install your autopilot system. Industry-standard NMEA 2000® networking offers simple connectivity to heading sensors, rudder feedback units, and multifunction displays located anywhere on board.
Hydraulic & Cable Steer Options
The NAC-1 Autopilot Computer is recommended for boats up to 9 metres (30 feet) in length. It been designed to reliably drive either the Simrad PUMP-1 reversible hydraulic pump for hydraulic-steered outboards, or the HELM-1 drive unit for cable-steered vessels.
Virtual Rudder Feedback
Simrad Virtual Rudder Feedback technology eliminates the need to install a separate rudder feedback unit aboard outboard and sterndrive (inboard/outboard) boats with planing hulls. This reduces overall autopilot system cost and complexity, and is ideal where a feedback unit is impractical due to mechanical constraints.
Minimum Product Requirements:
A drive unit, heading sensor, NMEA 2000® network, and compatible autopilot controller or multifunction display are required to create a complete autopilot system. Some vessels may also require a rudder feedback unit.
Features:
Reliable autopilot performance based on Continuum Steering technology
Recommended for boats up to 9 metres (30 feet) in length
Compatible with the Simrad PUMP-1 reversible hydraulic pump and HELM-1 cable steer drive unit
Virtual rudder feedback for simplified installation aboard outboard and sterndrive boats
Supports Simrad RF25 rudder feedback units
Plug-and-play connectors for easy installation
NMEA 2000® connectivity to heading sensors, rudder feedbacks, and multifunction displays

Reactor™ 40 Steer-by-wire Corepack for Viking® VIPER™
Garmin's Most Responsive Autopilot System on the Water
Solid-state 9-axis Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS)
Minimizes heading error, course deviation, rudder movement and power consumption while providing a comfortable ride
Minimal commissioning and calibration
The Reactor 40 for Viking VIPER steering systems brings our leading-edge marine autopilot technology to Viking yachts. With a complete package designed for powerboats and sailboats, Garmin brings an advanced marine technology to the boating public that was once only available for commercial boats. The Reactor 40 autopilot series is simply the most responsive autopilot system we have ever offered.
Reactor 40 autopilots are very versatile. Both powerboat and sailing features are available in all corepacks, including heading hold, wind hold, tack/jibe, step turns and more.
Solid-state 9-axis AHRS
With its advanced solid-state 9-axis AHRS, you can mount Reactor 40 nearly anywhere, in any orientation. In addition, this new system greatly minimizes heading error, course deviation, rudder movement and power consumption while providing a comfortable ride for all on board.
Reacts to Conditions
This amazing autopilot actually reacts to the sea to hold your course. Even when the boat is pitching and rolling, you can remain confident that the Reactor 40 autopilot will keep you on your desired course.
Minimal Commissioning and Calibration
All autopilots require commissioning and calibration — all of them. We know you just want to get on the water, so we made this process as fast and easy as possible. That’s the power of simple.
Full Integration with Garmin Chartplotters
Combined with a compatible Garmin networked chartplotter, you can have full control of Reactor 40 from wherever you are on the boat. In addition to holding its course in virtually all weather and wind conditions, the system can smoothly perform a variety of preprogrammed trolling and search procedures. COREPACK COMPATIBILITY
This corepack works with vessels that have Volvo Penta inboard performance systems and sterndrive joystick systems.
SOLID-STATE 9-AXIS AHRS
With its advanced solid-state 9-axis AHRS, you can mount Reactor 40 nearly anywhere, in any orientation. It even reduces power consumption, minimizes heading error, and more.
REACTS TO WATER CONDITIONS
Hold your course on the sea — this autopilot reacts to conditions, so you can remain confident even when you’re pitching or rolling.
SIMPLE CALIBRATION
All autopilots require commissioning and calibration. Reactor 40 makes it quick and easy.
WIRELESS REMOTE CAPABILITIES
Control your autopilot from anywhere on your boat by using your compatible Garmin devices, including the Reactor autopilot remote, select quatix® marine smartwatches, and more (requires a compatible Garmin chartplotter or GHC 50 autopilot instrument).
OPTIONAL GHC 50 BUNDLE
Combine the Reactor 40 hydraulic autopilot with the GHC 50 autopilot instrument to add a dedicated touchscreen autopilot display to your helm. Plus, GHC 50 allows you to share data and settings with Garmin MFDs and other installed Garmin devices.
POWERBOAT AND SAILING FEATURES
When connected to your compatible Garmin chartplotter, all Reactor 40 corepacks offer powerboat and sailing features, including heading hold and step turns — plus wind hold and tack/jibe when paired with a wind sensor (sold separately). You can even gain additional benefits such as the following route and Auto Guidance+™ features1.
