The Intelligent Boat
SOTDMA smartAIS transponder with remote vessel monitoring and control
Smart & Connected
Predicts collisions with other vessels and knows when someone falls overboard
Knows when your anchor is dragging and will tell you when something is wrong, whether you're onboard or ashore
Cortex is the brain of your boat
The smartAIS Advantage
smartAIS consumes very low power and continuously alerts even if your power intensive MFD or smartphone is switched off
smartAIS proactively alerts you of potential collisions, anchor drag and man overboard situations
Collision Prevention
smartAIS combines GPS, AIS and heading data with smart logic to proactively warns you of collision risks
Clearly see the highest risk vessels
When using a Cortex handset, smartphone, or tablet, make trial maneuvers to see a simulation of where and when your paths will cross
Anchor Watch
Sleep soundly or explore with abandon knowing that your boat is exactly where you anchored
By combining your position and heading, Cortex will determine if your anchor drags
When your boat moves outside your anchor swing radius the alarm will sound on Cortex handsets and your smartphone
Receive alerts while ashore via the Cortex Monitor App on your smartphone
Cortex will keep watch and alert you about changes in water depth, wind speed, or direction while you are anchored
Man Overboard (MOB)
When Cortex detects an AIS MOB activation it immediately sounds the alarm
Compatible with all AIS MOBs, you will see where the MOB was first activated along with continuous updates to its location, bearing, and range
Get clear information and take the best course
Label AIS MOB devices with crew names for easy identification
Pressing the dedicated MOB button activates a trackback mode on all handsets and marks the MOB on NMEA 2000 connected MFDs

When you connect other devices to your Cortex GPS using NMEA 2000 or NMEA 0183, all onboard equipment benefits from the superfast GPS
Integrated No-Loss Splitter
The integrated no-loss splitter allows you to share a single antenna with another VHF and delivers optimum performance for both your VHF and AIS
Low Power Consumption
With low input power, you can keep the Cortex always on, so you are always visible and always watching
Receive alerts without the need for power-hungry MFDs
Cortex Will Get Smarter.
New features and capabilities are downloaded automatically to the Cortex Onboard app for easy updates to Cortex via WiFi whenever convenient
Remote vessel monitoring and control
See your boat's status, receive alerts, and control devices
Easy setup, no fee
With built-in sensors, you can see twice-daily updates of your boat's location, battery level, true heading, ambient temperature, and barometric pressure
Connect to your NMEA network and monitor more - wind speed direction and water depth
As long as your smartphone and boat have cellular access, you can know your boat is safe and secure
No subscription, no hassle
Real-time monitoring and control
Subscribe to a Cortex Monitor Plan to receive alerts, see real-time information about your boat, and remotely control devices like lighting, air conditioning, refrigeration, or ice-makers
Whether you've left your boat, at anchor, or at the marina, know exactly where it is and what's happening onboard
The world's most advanced VHF radio
Upgrade to the future of VHF
The Cortex is VHF-ready, simply add wireless H1P handsets to enjoy the power of VHF and AIS combined

Series 40 Ball Bearing Orbit Block™ - Single - Becket - Swivel Head
Core Blocks™ are a true all round solution. A tuned 2-stage bearing system provides excellent performance across the full working load range with an integrated thrust bearing feature and the resilience to handle high dynamic or static loads. Acetal sheave, alloy cheeks and stainless fixings complete the durable package. For reliability and a long service life, these blocks are the right choice for sheets, halyards and control line applications for cruising and racing.
Lightweight
Kilogram for kilogram of working load, BB Orbit Blocks™ are the world's lightest. The unique orbital design allows the bearing to only be in the active areas of the floating sheave. This minimises the mass of the inactive return race and hub.
Weight and bulk are further reduced in the different block configurations. The ball bearing single and becket block has a through-sheave becket arrangement. The result? The lowest weight possible.
Multi-sheave blocks have only single intermediate cheeks and an ultra-light and efficient head arrangement. This gives a 30% weight saving advantage over the nearest competitor. Other brands just link together their single blocks. This results in unnecessary double cheeks between each sheave, held together by a heavy steel channel across the top of the block.
Highest Working Load In Its Class
The orbital ball-bearing arrangement gives the largest possible bearing race diameter. This maximises load performance. The proven Ronstan 2-stage bearing system features high compression grade acetal ball bearings and a secondary full-contact bearing. This gives minimum friction across the full working load range.
The floating sheave and bearing system is supported by a fiber-reinforced load frame. The design was computer modelled to be stress optimised.
Features:
Ultra Lightweight
Low friction 2-stage Orbital ball bearing system
Highest working load in its class
