The BCA1550 Series chargers (BCA) and power supplies (PWS) are designed to supply a DC load or charge a battery at 12, 24, 32, 36, 48, or 72 (Rail) VDC. The 1550 family provides up to 1500 watts of precision power (the 1050 family supplies up to 1000 watts). The 1550 and 1050 families are identical to their previous models (1505 and 1005, respectively) in form, fit, and function as a direct drop-in replacement.
Internally, the recently updated design incorporates a Power Factor Corrected (PFC) input stage allowing the charger to run continuously from 85 – 264 VAC at 50 or 60Hz with a Power Factor of 0.99 or better from 10% to 100% load. Heavy input filtering reduces EMI to extremely low levels to prevent interference with nearby sensitive electronics. These units are constructed from heavy-duty extruded aluminum chassis and aluminum ventilated front and rear panels with thermostatically controlled cooling fans and all stainless steel fasteners for rugged duty. Step up a 12 VDC battery to between 13.5 and 17.0 or 24.0 and 27.5 DC in 0.5 VDC increments (via 3 position DIP switch), or stabilize a 12 or 24 VDC power system.
