BM100 Battery Monitoring Solution The BM100 is a complete system comprising SmartShunt and the veKonvert NMEA 2000 interface. It is part of Digital Yacht’s iSeaSense range of NMEA 2000 boat instruments. With this solution, your multi-function display becomes a sophisticated battery and energy management system. Features Digital Yacht’s BM100 battery monitoring system allows highly accurate DC voltage, current, and capacity measurements, enabling reliable monitoring of your boat’s battery and electrical system. Core to the system is the SmartShunt. It measures battery voltage and current. Based on these measurements, it intelligently calculates the battery’s state of charge and the time to depletion for the remaining charge. It also keeps track of historical data, such as the deepest discharge and average discharge current, as well as the number of charge and discharge cycles. The smart shunt can also monitor the voltage of a 2nd battery, typically dedicated to engine starting. The product is a collaboration between Victron Energy and Digital Yacht. The system utilizes Victron’s proprietary VE.Direct data connectivity as a source for the NMEA 2000 data. The BM100 is part of a wider group of products now introduced by Digital Yacht that bring NMEA 2000 connectivity to Victron systems using the VE.Direct interface. GPS160F with Furuno Format Data Output The GPS160 series of sensors is a high-performance GPS designed for use with chart plotters Digital Yacht has introduced a specific version of the GPS160 which is a simple replacement for older Furuno plotter and GPS systems.  Devices like the Furuno GP32, Navnet, and GPS310/320 utilize a specific format for GPS data and this sensor emulates that for easy compatibility.  Some of these older GPS sensors have suffered from technical issues with the GPS system rollover changes which can render chart plotter systems useless.  The GPS160F provides an economical and reliable solution to these problems. In conjunction with Furuno UK, Digital Yacht has developed a special version of their popular GPS160 Smart GNSS Sensor “TriNav” that outputs the older NMEA 0183 sentences and data format that the legacy Furuno systems can read. Now if a Furuno customer has a problem with their existing Furuno GPS (GP310/GP320/GP32/etc.) they can use the GPS160F as a simple “drop-in” replacement for their failed positioning sensor. The GPS160F has been tested with a wide variety of legacy Furuno products including; the original NavNet MFDs, NavNet VX2, M1735 Radar, GP7000, and the FCV family of sounders. 5G Xtream System with 3 Antennas & 7M Cable For boat owners looking for ultra-fast internet on board, the new 5G Xtream from Digital Yacht offers 4G and 5G connectivity as well as integration with Starlink satellite systems for the best and most affordable blended internet afloat. The 5G Xtream can support 5G (shoreside) connection speeds up to 3.1GB/s but also integrates a 4G Cat 20 modem, which offers connectivity up to about 25NM from shore at speeds of up to 2GB/s. The system uses three external antennas with dual high-gain vertical antennas and a separate compact dome for the higher 5G frequencies. This MIMO technology and, critically, separate antennas give optimum performance. There’s support for dual SIMs with auto (failover) or manual switching between operators. AISnet AIS Base Station AISnet is a new AIS receiver for use as an AIS base station at home or in the office. Utilising the same high performance dual channel AIS receiver as the rest of the Digital Yacht range, AISnet also features an ethernet socket so that you can connect it to your broadband router and send AIS data to an on-line AIS tracking service. There are now a large number of internet based web sites which offer a view of AIS equipped vessels on a background chart allowing users to check the position and identity of ships and yachts. If your home/office is close to the coast and you would like to contribute your data to one of these sites, simply register with the company and they will give you an IP address and Port number. Using the setup program that Digital Yacht supply, it takes seconds to program the IP address and Port in to AISnet, which will immediately start sending your local AIS data seamlessly across the internet to be displayed on the site. It is also possible to view the data, that AISnet is collecting, locally on your PC using the free SmarterTrack Lite software that Digital Yacht include with every AISnet. SPL1500 Antenna Splitter VHF/AIS An AIS receiver or transponder requires a VHF antenna, but Digital Yacht’s SPL1500 AIS-VHF antenna splitter allows an existing antenna to be used for both the AIS and VHF (DSC). Unlike most simple splitters, it can also be used with a class B transponder system and it incorporates special circuitry to ensure safe operation of the two transmitting devices. The unit has three simple connections - one input for the main VHF antenna and then outputs for the AIS receiver/transponder and another for the DSC VHF. It utilizes Digital Yacht’s ZeroLoss™ technology, to ensure the very best possible reception and transmission from all devices. Most importantly it is also fail safe, so should the unit ever stop working or lose power, it will not affect the main VHF operation. NavAlert NMEA Monitor & Alarm System NavAlert is Digital Yacht’s latest innovation and allows an alarm to be set for any parameter that’s available on the boat’s NMEA 2000 network. That could be navigation data such as depth, heading, or speed, as well as electrical data such as voltage and engine/generator data including temperature, pressure, tank levels, fuel flow, etc. It connects anywhere on the NMEA 2000 network and takes power from this connection, so installation is super simple. A local WiFi network is created by NavAlert, so setup is possible via any smartphone, tablet, or PC. Simply choose the parameter to monitor and set an alarm level. Alarms/Alerts Integrated into NavAlert is a custom alarm for anchor drift using an algorithm to calculate the optimum drift radius based on depth and the scope of the chain for reliable notifications. There’s also an anti-collision alarm based on CPA (closest point of approach) and TCPA (time to the closest point of approach) AIS data from a connected AIS. These alerts can also be monitored through the wireless interface with attractive graphical displays of current status. Alarms can also generate an SMS message, which can be relayed through Digital Yacht’s 4GXtream internet connectivity solution, allowing remote monitoring, which is great for feeling secure that the anchor is holding well when enjoying a lunch ashore. Alarms are independent of any alarms set on a plotter, allowing NavAlert to operate even without a primary multi-function display being powered up (an important feature for power-limited sailboats). Alerts can also be relayed to compatible multi-function devices (Garmin supports this function) for a pop-up data window indicating an alert and the ability to acknowledge it. *NavAlert is universal, using the industry standard NMEA 2000 data protocol, so it will integrate with all leading brands and systems. Operation The operation is simple. Simply search for the WiFi network that NavAlert creates and connect via a smartphone or tablet. A full NMEA 2000 backbone cabling pack is included and the wireless interface for connectivity. There is a spare cable and connection point for additional NMEA 2000 devices such as a multi-function display or Digital Yacht’s range of instruments. iSeaSense features an easy-to-use web interface.  No apps are required. Simply open the browser on a connected device, navigate to iSeaSense.local, and the optimized touchscreen display is ready. The web interface works on iOS, Android, PC, Linux, and MAC – any standard web browser as well as e-ink displays like Kindle and e-book. It supports up to 3 connected devices with super fast 5Hz updates. The data can also be used by 100’s popular navigation apps & software such as Navionics, TZ iBoat, OpenCPN, SailGrib, etc. Operation You can access the iSeaSense dashboard through its own web interface, just open your web browser, enter the iSeaSense’s IP address or iSeaSense.local and you will access the attractive dash to display all your instrument's data. So no complicated programming software or app is required. By default, iSeaSense has a series of pre-defined pages that display digital databoxes and analog “instruments” of the instrument and navigation data available on the NMEA 2000 network. With iSeaSense you’re in control of the data you see. Taking its power from the SeaTalk network, the ST-NMEA Converter features a full, multi-transistor SeaTalk 1 interface, an opto-isolated NMEA 0183 input and differential NMEA 0183 output that allows key navigational data to be reliably shared between the SeaTalk and NMEA0183 networks.
