2/29/05 A missing file in version 2.5 prevents it from starting up correctly after installation. (The "JournalEntry" directory can not be found error.) This problem has been fixed as of February 29, 2006.  If you have downloaded version 2.5 prior to this date a fixed version 2.5.0.1 is now available.
3/6/06 A defect in the destination import function prevents photo captions from importing correctly. This problem has been fixed.  Upgrade to the latest version 2.5.0.2 for resolution.

VMG Software provides email-based technical support to customers who have purchased the Captn's Edition of Captn's Log. Support is provided on a best-effort basis, and you will typically get a first-response to your question or issue within 3 working days of submission.

  • Your license key and the email address it is registered with.
  • The version number of software.
  • The version of Windows you are using.
  • Any screen captures and or error messages.
  • A detailed summary of how to reproduce the problem.

Known Limitations

When sorting the Trip Summary display by destination, the destinations are not sorted alphabetically by name as you might expect. They are instead sorted by their internal destination identifier. This is a side-effect of the .NET table sorting function.

There is currently no automated  method for transferring between the Palm OS and Windows XP versions of the product.
