5G Xtream System with 3 Antennas & 7M Cable
For boat owners looking for ultra-fast internet on board, the new 5G Xtream from Digital Yacht offers 4G and 5G connectivity as well as integration with Starlink satellite systems for the best and most affordable blended internet afloat.
The 5G Xtream can support 5G (shoreside) connection speeds up to 3.1GB/s but also integrates a 4G Cat 20 modem, which offers connectivity up to about 25NM from shore at speeds of up to 2GB/s. The system uses three external antennas with dual high-gain vertical antennas and a separate compact dome for the higher 5G frequencies. This MIMO technology and, critically, separate antennas give optimum performance. There’s support for dual SIMs with auto (failover) or manual switching between operators.
The 5G Xtream features dual-band (2.4 and 5GHz) wireless connections, so users on board simply search for the secure wifi point and connect. There are also 4 LAN ports (10/100/1000 MB) for wired devices like smart TVs and a WAN port that is optimized for Starlink satellite connectivity, allowing the 5GX to act as a sophisticated and fast router for all on-board internet communications.
The Wi-Fi router can also be configured to access marina wifi hotspots as an additional method of internet access. This also supports the very latest 5GHz marina wifi services, and there's also a high-gain external wifi antenna available as an accessory.
For advanced users, the 5G Xtream allows for user management, VPNs, blacklists, and IOT applications. NMEA 0183/2000 data can also be connected using Digital Yacht’s LANLink devices. The integrated GPS allows for SMS reporting of boat position or even a geofence/drift setting when the boat is at anchor or in port.
The Digital Yacht 5G Xtream is supplied as a complete solution with antennas, mounts, and cabling – all that’s additionally required is a cellular SIM.
Configuration
Configuration is very simple. Just insert the SIM cards. The 5G Xtream has two standard SIM slots, and it is possible to fit two SIMs from two different network operators. By default, the 5G Xtream will query the SIM that is installed and automatically select the APN settings from its internal database.
However, it is very important that users “lockdown” their wireless network with their network name (SSID) and wireless password. This task only takes a couple of minutes and is done via the 5G Xtream web interface.
User Interface
Accessing 5G Xtream functionality is done via an easy web interface. Any locally connected device can simply enter the IP address into the password-protected interface to set up functions, view traffic and logs, and configure wifi.
Once set up, there should be no requirement to log in other than for diagnostics and configuration. Users simply access the internet through the wifi connection, just as they would in the home or office.

NavAlert NMEA Monitor & Alarm System
NavAlert is Digital Yacht’s latest innovation and allows an alarm to be set for any parameter that’s available on the boat’s NMEA 2000 network. That could be navigation data such as depth, heading, or speed, as well as electrical data such as voltage and engine/generator data including temperature, pressure, tank levels, fuel flow, etc.
It connects anywhere on the NMEA 2000 network and takes power from this connection, so installation is super simple. A local WiFi network is created by NavAlert, so setup is possible via any smartphone, tablet, or PC. Simply choose the parameter to monitor and set an alarm level.
Alarms/Alerts
Integrated into NavAlert is a custom alarm for anchor drift using an algorithm to calculate the optimum drift radius based on depth and the scope of the chain for reliable notifications. There’s also an anti-collision alarm based on CPA (closest point of approach) and TCPA (time to the closest point of approach) AIS data from a connected AIS. These alerts can also be monitored through the wireless interface with attractive graphical displays of current status.
Alarms can also generate an SMS message, which can be relayed through Digital Yacht’s 4GXtream internet connectivity solution, allowing remote monitoring, which is great for feeling secure that the anchor is holding well when enjoying a lunch ashore. Alarms are independent of any alarms set on a plotter, allowing NavAlert to operate even without a primary multi-function display being powered up (an important feature for power-limited sailboats).
Alerts can also be relayed to compatible multi-function devices (Garmin supports this function) for a pop-up data window indicating an alert and the ability to acknowledge it.
*NavAlert is universal, using the industry standard NMEA 2000 data protocol, so it will integrate with all leading brands and systems.
Operation
The operation is simple. Simply search for the WiFi network that NavAlert creates and connect via a smartphone or tablet. Open a browser and connect to NavAlert, and users are presented with a clear graphical interface allowing easy setup, configuration, and viewing of the alerts and network data. NavAlert constantly monitors the whole network, so alert parameters can be set for any variable.
Users can configure the NavAlert through its simple web interface. Just open a web browser, enter the NavAlert’s IP address, and users can change the network name and password, or even merge the WiFi to an existing WiFi network on board… So no complicated programming software or app is required.

SPL1500 Antenna Splitter VHF/AIS
An AIS receiver or transponder requires a VHF antenna, but Digital Yacht’s SPL1500 AIS-VHF antenna splitter allows an existing antenna to be used for both the AIS and VHF (DSC). Unlike most simple splitters, it can also be used with a class B transponder system and it incorporates special circuitry to ensure safe operation of the two transmitting devices.
The unit has three simple connections - one input for the main VHF antenna and then outputs for the AIS receiver/transponder and another for the DSC VHF. It utilizes Digital Yacht’s ZeroLoss™ technology, to ensure the very best possible reception and transmission from all devices. Most importantly it is also fail safe, so should the unit ever stop working or lose power, it will not affect the main VHF operation. Until now, Digital Yacht, have recommended a dedicated antenna for a receiver or transponder. However, with the new this new ZeroLoss™ technology, we can now offer a solution that greatly simplifies installation whilst maintaining performance.
The unit is waterproof and matches the aesthetics of the current AIT1500, so can easily be integrated into any vessel. It is suitable for operation on 12V or 24V systems and features three status LEDs that show the unit is powered correctly and when the AIS or VHF transmits.
Features:
Enables an existing VHF antenna to be used for both the standard VHF and AIS system
ZeroLoss™ technology for exceptional performance
Works with all Class B transponders and receivers
Supplied with power cable, PL259-PL259 cable assembly and BNC-BNC cable assembly for easy installation (all cables 0.75m long)
12V or 24V 0peration and low power consumption
Fail safe operation
Same size and design as the AIT1500
Makes installation of an AIS receiver or transponder very quick and simple
Saves on additional antenna clutter
