SpinSheet, the Annapolis, Md.-based sailing magazine, has launched an online gallery of downloadable photos of Chesapeake Bay sailing events on its Web site at www.spinsheet.com.
The first step in the print magazine's Web site modernization, the gallery features photos of the National Offshore One-Design Regatta April 25-27 and the USODA Opti Team Trials from May 1-4 and will soon display racing scenes from the National Hospice Cup Championships, which took place May 9-11.
Although current images highlight Annapolis-based regattas, SpinSheet intends to incorporate photos from major regatta and non-racing events all over the Bay as the season progresses.
“Every month, SpinSheet readers request copies of photos we've printed in the magazine,” said editor Molly Winans in a statement. “They have no idea how many more great shots we have of them and their boats on file. This is our chance to share hundreds of updated photos with active Bay sailors and their families every week of the season.”
SpinSheet's Photo Gallery went live a week after the April launch of its 24-page new sailor program, Start Sailing Now, which is designed to help would-be sailors become active Bay sailors this season (www.startsailingnow.com).
